Sunday Stuff

Have I ever mentioned that I am the back stage director for the School Performance at my daughters Elementary School?  Well, if I haven't I am now.

The Performance isn't until mid May, but as you can imagine I am swamped with a lot of preparation for the big week (we have 4 shows).

Costumes, props, figuring out stage directions and lighting............it's enough to make my heart palpitate.  And if this isn't enough, I also need to complete the yearbook for the 5th graders (continue to take pictures for the yearbook), plan Girl scout meetings and a camping trip and deal with everyday life.

So if I am not around a lot in the blogosphere you will know why.  I hate missing out on anything so I will make sure to visit all my favorites.

In the meantime, I took a few minutes today to do something crafty.  I needed a Congratulations card, so after seeing this adorable card on Crafty Makes I felt inspired and created this card.

Kim's card is way more adorable than mine, but I'm happy with the way my imitation came out!  If you like making cards jump on over to Kim's blog, Crafty Makes.  You are sure to find something that will bring you inspiration.

Materials for the card:
Paper & Fibers: Sugared by Basic Grey
Star: Nestibilities
Ink: Rangers Vintage photo

Gone Camping!

Well my blogger friends and stalkers, it is time for me to log off my computer and finish getting ready for my weekend camping trip.  I, crazy girl scout leader, am going with 6 other crazy girl scout leaders on our service units annual Junior Encampment!

I will be back on Sunday but I probably won't be in an up right position until Monday!

So if you come by and leave a message I will come by and visit as soon as I am back to the land of the living!

See that crazy lady image........that is what I feel like after a weekend of camping with my troop!  Think it's pretty funny?  Well, I borrowed the original drawing from the very talented Rick Green over at Organized Doodles!  Go over and check out his blog!!

Have a great weekend!

SITs Blog-a-thon!

Hi Ladies and welcome to my contribution to the Secrets in the Sauce-blogathon. Today all SITs girls are being asked to show some love and share with their readers five blogs they discovered over at SITs.

First a little bit about what SITs means to me! I actually stalked the SITs site for a week or so before I joined in the fun. You see, my blog was private and was only for friends and family. I felt comfortable with my familiar crowd and was sort of nervous about opening myself up to other bloggers.

After witnessing how SITs girls support each other I decided to take the plunge and the result have been fantastic. I have met so many new bloggers and the support they give through their comments has been awesome. The comments left make me laugh and smile.....and who couldn't use a little of that everyday?

Now, for you non-SITs bloggers, please head over to the SITs site and join in the fun.  But before you leave, first check out some of my favorite SITs girls.

I am just getting to know these ladies and have many more I could have listed, but these are the ones I wanted to share:
  1. Marla at Stolen Bon Bons.

  2. Ronnica over at Tales of a Kansas Girl.

  3. Rhonda at Whetten Wonders.

  4. Mamarazzi at Dandelion Wishes.

  5. Shana at Smiles Miles Trials.
Happy Blagathon ladies and thanks for stopping by!

Tip Junkie's Talk to me Tuesday!

Who is your Blog Crush is the Talk To Me Tuesday topic of the day over at Tip Junkie.  It didn't take me long to identify my first Blog Crush, Bit's and Pieces.  The author Cathy Zielske is a columnist over at Simple Scrapbooks Magazine, she is creative, incredibly funny and a fabulous writer.  She inspires me to become a better writer and motivates my scrapbooking mojo!  Even if you aren't into scrapbooking I can garuntee you will enjoy her blog.  Take a minute to check out her blog!

Now for my second blog crush.  Let me start off my saying that I just recently made my blog public.  I was keeping it private because I figured I didn't have anything to say that would interest someone that didn't know me or my family (heck I might not even interest those who know me).  Then I started finding all of these really great bloggers that were making friends with each other.  I hate missing anything so a couple of weeks ago I went public.  Since then I have found a bunch of bloggers to enjoy/stalk.

Now onto my second blog crush,  Mama's Losin' it.  Since going public MamaKat was one of the first "popular" bloggers to actually come and comment on my blog.  I was so thrilled and surprised that I almost fell off my computer chair.  Then she added me to the list of blogs she follows (my first).  So how can I not make her my blog crush??  It's like I'm that new kid in class that just had the popular cheer leader say hi.  :)

I'm sure a lot of you already know her, but for those of you who don't you have to check out her blog.  She is a talented young woman that has been keeping me entertained with her stories of motherhood, family and friends.  Oh and she has a great give away that I mentioned a few posts ago. If you haven't already visited her blog stop by and say hi!  She is after all an "attention loving poodle" so I'm sure she would welcome more bloggy friends!
