Here is a not so great shot of Kate's violin recital. I still have not figured out how to take good pictures in low light, but I'm trying. Jim bought me a tiny coolpix point and shot for those times when I don't want to lug around my 35mm. It's so cute, maybe I'll have better luck with it! Oh, back to Kate. She did a great job and I am so proud of her for sticking with the violin all year! Now will she continue........that is the question on all our minds.
Last but not least is a picture of Reid holding up her certificate for Outstanding academic achievement in science. This is her second year in a row getting an award in science. Needless to say, we are very proud of her!
Now we are waiting for the school year to end. One week and one day! Summer is almost here.

Happy Birthday To YOU!
Yeah Kate for sticking with the violin!
Congratulations Reid on your Science awesomeness! =)
Happy Birthday Michelle! Em's playing the violin next year. Did you buy one? I think I will rather than rent like we are for the clarinet.
Hey Karen.....we bought! It made more sense to just buy a starter violin since it was essentially the same price as renting one. Of course it wouldn't have been if she would have quit playing!!! If you buy from the right place they will buy back when you trade up.
The playing of the violin is very serious business---which shows on Katie's face. She did a great job at the recital and it seemed like she was having fun during the performance.
Where did Reid get her science achievement genes from? No one on our side of the family excelled at science. Go Reid!
Not sure where the gene came from but she enjoys science so much that at the last day of school party she attended she refused to burn any of her science stuff......math however went up in flames!
