PSF - We have been labeled!

I love my dogs, but they have issues.

They do not enjoy visits from the mail carrier....a common dog phobia.

They pose no threat to the mailman, they just like to bark like lunatics when the mail carrier comes to the door......and Xena sort of throws herself against the screen.

Truth be told, Xena doesn't discriminate. She does barks at every visitor.

Because my dogs go a little nuts when people come to the front door we installed a heavy duty security screen door. I hate the way it looks, but it was necessary to keep Xena from break down the screen door when she is being possessed by the devil.

I figured that the heavy duty security door and the fact that Xena has never taken a nibble of any of our mail carriers would provide all carriers with a sense of security.

Today I discovered differently!

Our mail comes with a warning!

This Dog Warning Card was accidentally left in our mailbox today.

I say accidentally because on the form it says "Case in front of mail for address where dog poses a threat -- do not deliver this form." Whoopsie!

We have had a string of sub's lately, so I understand the need for the form.

If you approach my door while day dreaming you might have the hooey scared out of you by a psychotic poodle and chihuahua.

A poodle and chihuahua? That's so funny that they can scare the mailman off! Love the dog warning card, awesome take!

Barking dogs scare me too, but yours looks cute!

I don't think any dog is absolutely safe when a postman comes to deliver the mail. (Though a chihuahua & a poodle wouldn't normally scare me.)

Nuts in May

That is too funny! You certainly have been marked! You can use that excuse when your bills don't come! That chihuahua looks very threatening!

Our dog Sam never had a problem with people on the outside of the house but he was a good one for not letting the repair man out of the house when he was done.

That's funny...although I do think it's pretty common for mailmen to get bitten though.

That happened to us too in the old house. Cassie was a spaz and once went out the door and across the street after the mail lady! Yikes! She got scared though and didn't hurt her. We got a letter the next day that they wouldn't deliver unless the front door was closed!

LOL! Loving the photos. I had that happen once in an appt. The people below me had a dog and the carrier refused to leave both of our mail.

That is too funny. My in laws house got labeled like this too. It's funny because the "vicious" dog would let my daughter ride on his back and pull his whiskers when she was little.

I'm scared of dogs, too. I feel that they are unpredictable.

Oh my gosh, Michelle!! I could have written the exact same post, and down to the same kind of dog!!!

Ours barks like CRAZY over the mailman. Even when she sees him across the street she goes psycho. One time she got out when I grabbed the mail and the mailman almost maced her!!

We have 2 boxers that are so sweet and gentle but bark like crazy when anyone drives up.

One never knows what a kiddo is thinking!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I love to meet new moms online! You should like a neat family.

We have had a lot of rain here and so a warm sunny day was just the ticket. Our son and dil brought the baby grand over in his Lion King costume. He was not crazy about the hood but we managed to get some good shots.

Blessings.

LOLOLOL, what kind of mailman is afraid of two little dogs??

oh my word! mailmen and dogs! that was the primary reason that our Deke went to live in the country- I was in constant fear he would really attack the mailman. He did actually jump through a window screen once, but we have a hedge in front of the window that slowed him down enough for me to grab his legs...
We deliver meals to an elderly couple with a chihuahua that thinks he is the meanest dog on the plantet. only problem- he has no teeth. none. His bark is DEFINITELY worse than his bite!! Makes my family laugh every single time we deliver...
Great post!
Blessings, friend!

My mom used to have a toy poodle that would bark anytime the doorbell rang!! They live in WY though, so their mail gets delivered to a PO box. No chance of scaring the mailman that way!

A mail person's job is not an easy one, I fear. After all, the mail must get through.

In my village, we have community mailboxes so the mail lady (yes, she's a she - even her subs are females) doesn't have to go to anyone's door. But the dog next door barks at her anyway. LOL

Wow! I had no idea they even had those cards. My dog is the same way. He goes nuts when the mailman stops by.

I mean barking is one thing ... that doesn't make a dog dangerous. Biting is another.

My dogs bite ankles... my meter readers won't read my meter unless I bring the dogs in my house...

They are little pitzer dogs... they weight nothing!!!

haha, that is funny. My mailman came to the door with a package while my two threw themselves at the door. I said (over the growling and barking) "Do I have to sign for it??" and he said "No! I'll just leave it here!" and RAN back to his truck. My cousin is a mail carrier and she keeps treats with her to distract disgruntle dogs.
