I really hate the word verification, but after receiving my first spam I realized how useful they can be! Spam just feels like being violated!!
But I have a beef with word verification. My issue is with not always being able to read them. First, they all look like something you would see if you were on shrooms (not that I would know that from experience!). Second, they sometimes give you these crazy wavy skinny letters that are all crammed together. I used to try to figure them out, like it was some kind of blogger test I had to pass (I'm a bit of a perfectionist). Now when I get the skinny ones I just type a few words and hope that my next time around I get the easy to read plump letters.
Now I ask you.........if they make the plump easy to read ones then why can't they use those all of the time??? Or do you think there is some nerdy guy sitting at his computer thinking it would be funny to give us a bunch of WV's we will never figure out?

Hey Michelle, thanks for stopping by The Journey. Your blog is gorgeousl
Very fun stuff here, and after a little poking around, your picture of your "birthday twins" is my favorite so far. My dad was born on his dad's birthday--awesome gift!
I cannot tell you how many times I have to do the word verification two or three times before I get it right!!
Thanks so much!!! I have a special surprise for everyone who blogged about it, so be sure to check back on the 7th!
Good luck & have a great night! :)
(And word verification makes me crazy!)
HA! Another friend blogged about the word verification stuff today, too. Must be making everyone crazy. And doesn't it seem like there are more letters, more druggy letters, than there used to be?
I wish sometimes I could write in that font, "druggy wordver"... :-)
I totally agree with your word verification issue. I have that same issue.
I hate the word verification! I've had to sit at my laptop and do the different ones over and over because I couldn't understand what letters they were...maybe it's time for glasses or sleep, I'm hoping the later!
I just found your blog on "Saucy" so hi!
I got my background from http://www.thecutestblogontheblock.com/ I went there first to see what colors I should use when making my header.. then I went to http://www.scrapblog.com/ I used one of their templates but you can start with a blank page. I saved it as a jpeg and there you have it.. It took me about an hour but now that I have the hang of it.. I don't think it would take that long anymore.. I hope that helps..
How did you get three columns? I want to do that on mine..
I've never even heard of Frogmore Soup. Is it regional?
The only time I have a beef with word verification is when I have to re type the word.....which is a lot. he he. I've wondering the same thing.
I really, really dislike (trying not to use the word "hate") word verification. They complicate things. And don't always work.
After receiving a few subtle hints, I dropped mine. You know what? I've gotten 3 spam comments in the 10 months or so I've been without it. Totally not worth hassling every reader/commenter (who I want to encourage to comment) just so I avoid 3 comments that aren't particularly menacing in the first place.
Oh, and I know that I need to start saving for retirement. But I haven't graduated yet (December, baby!). I'm barely making ends meet now... I do hope to start getting things in order, at least to be able to start paying off my student loans that'll hit me in about 8 months...
Ok, I'm going to drop my word verification and see how it goes! Do I hear cheering from the peanut gallery?? :)
I guess the worse thing to happen is I have to delete a comment or two.
I have word verification myself but I curse it on everyone else's blog. hate it. I also think they look like someone's on shrooms. (not me!)
lol thanks for the laugh
