Photo collage and picture a day shots

If you are anything like the majority of digital camera owners you probably rarely print out any of the images that you take.  That certainly describes me.

In an effort to keep my home clutter free I have slowly decreased the number of photo frames I have on display.  Next thing I knew I had hardly any photo's on display.  Not good.

After seeing so many neat photo collages on the internet I decided to make my own.

This was super easy to do.  I took an old frame and painted it (Martha Stewart Satin Pool).  Next I did a little mental math and figure out that I could fit twenty five 3x3 pictures into the 19x19 opening (edited and cropped the photo's in photoshop).

I bought a piece of heavy duty card stock large enough to fit the opening.  Then I laid out the photo's and using re-positional photo tape, I stuck the them into place.  Now this is where things could get ugly if you are really anal.  I used to do stuff like this for a living so I have a pretty good sense of spacing and was able to do this without a ruler.  But if lining up things doesn't come easily to you just use a ruler.  Once you get the middle row and bottom row straight the rest should be easy to do without a ruler.

Not only was this easy to do it was also really inexpensive.  Since I already owned the frame the only cost came from printing the pictures, the card stock and the paint.  The total was $10.00.

Now on to a couple more pictures of the day.................

What in the heck am I doing in this shot you ask?  I am playing with my new wireless camera remote.  So now I can take those selfie shots without having to run like a maniac before the self timer runs out.  This is going to be fun.

One of the issues I have with the 365 project is that I sometimes remember at the end of the day that I still need to take a picture for the day.  Sunday was one of those days.  Fortunately my daughter was going to a friends house downtown where there were loads of great night shots to be had.

Linking up with Seven Clown Circus and Project Alicia for Wordful Wednesday.

What a great project!
My husband loves his wireless remote, even when he basically has to hold his arm out straight to make it work. Doesn't work so well when he is in the pic! haha

I like both shots and thats a great idea with the photos. Maybe you could do the same on a smaller scale preparing a digital 12x12 layout and have it printed somewhere which prints digital scrap pages.

LOVE the collage. What a great idea.

I am lacking on printing photos now, too. I digitally scrapbook, but I am way behind. I do a blog book (through Blurb) and LOVE the fact that it's soooo easy and love the fact that lots are printed that way. I make 1-2 a year depending how much I blogged that year.

LOVE my shutter release button, wish it were are remote one through.

The collage looks great. I agree -- we don't really print out the 100s of photos we take either. Perhaps a collage is in order for us as well.

Love your pouty lips in the first photo!!!

I LOVE that you made your own collage for practically nothing and that you now have a place to display so many of your FANTASTIC photos!

I am definitely guilty of not printing out my pictures. All of the pictures are from my wedding(2008) and of my newborn daughter who will be 2 in March. I have to get on updating those. That frame looks awesome and I am super jealous of your camera remote.

Love the collage! I saw you posted in on Pinterest and I had to re-pin it! I think it would make a great gift for my MIL next year, using pics of all the grandkids!
