PSF - Caught red handed

I discovered over this past year that I like taking pictures of interesting people that I don't know.

Unless you are a celebrity I imagine that most people would find it odd to see a stranger snapping their picture. So I try to do it on the sly.
Yesterday I got caught trying to be sly!

I was sitting at a stop light watching the dude in the ill fitting statue of liberty costume trying to stand like Lady Liberty when I thought, "hey that might make a funny shot."

I quickly adjusted the exposure, focused and BAM....he looked over his shoulder before I could put my camera down.

Instead of screaming at me or asking what in the heck I was doing he turned around and proudly gave me his best sign holder pose. If my 14 year old would have been in the car this would have been the point where she would have said, "Awkward."

It was super awkward but hey, Mama has a 365 blog to think about and shots like this one are just too funny to pass up.

Oh, I LOVE this idea! Though where I live (metro NYC) strangers would grab and smash your camera if you tried this. Sigh.
Great shots!

LOL!!! I would have been so embarrassed!!! I've never tried taking a picture of a stranger. I wonder what would happen if I got caught...lol.

Great post!
I love that he was accommodating too because it worked into an excellent shot!
Fun pictures. I have taken one picture of a stranger without them knowing, the old lady on the street for my something slow in the Oct. photo hunt. I rather enjoyed it. =)

Seriously, you totally ROCK. Stranger shooting at its finest!

I was in SLC today and saw so many people that I would love to capture but I didn't. In fact, I've never done it. Because I am lame.

That's hilarious!

Haha! That is hilarious. I guess if you can walk around in public all day in a Statue of Liberty costume, not a whole lot bothers you. :)

You had to do it because it had to be done! ;)

I prefer to be sneaky too. But I have noticed when I'm caught people generally are cool with it. I love the green costume!

Haha! My husband loves taking pictures of sign holders for some reason. I try not to take pictures of random people unless I can be especially sneaky. We tried taking a picture of the huge line outside of out Best Buy this past Black Friday and some people yelled at us. I bet if I had said I worked for a newspaper they would not have thought twice. Haha!

I do that too! lol! But you've got some really great shots! We've got that tax guy too over here, lol. Liberty tax is the one by me. Same outfit. No sign. lol. Once my husband saw our former deadbeat renter dressed as that liberty guy, lol.
