PSF - It's only a rose!

PhotoStory Friday
Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

I have always wanted to participate in the photo a day project (365 photo's in a year).  This is the year......the year that I remembered to start the project with the beginning of the new year.

It has only been one week and so far so good.  What amazes me about the process is how much more aware of my surroundings I have become.

For example, this morning as I was getting the groceries out of the back of my SUV I noticed that a few of the roses were in bloom on the bush in our front yard.

The sun was still rising in the east and the lighting was absolutely perfect.  The petals even had dew on them (even though you can't see it well in this picture).

I posted this picture for PSF to share with you all what winter looks like in Southern California.  This isn't an attempt to make any of the snowed in folks envious.....just thought it might make you smile.

If anyone wants to see the start of my 2009 photo a day project please click: HERE!

Oh and if you aren't familiar with Photo Story Fridays, please go check it out (by clicking the pretty icon at the top of the post).  Loads of great photo's being shared.

Happy Friday!

What a beautiful picture to look at on a cold Utah winter night. I agree about the picture a day -- it's changing the way I see my life each day.
Great job!

Gorgeous! I'm in Northern California and my roses do not like the cold weather. I must say, I'm a little envious of the beauty next to your front door.

What a lovely photo!

I'm obsessed with craft supplies too. I honestly think I like the supplies more than the actual crafting. Esp scrapbook supplies!

Lovely! I love the way the light was captured in this photo, almost faint around the petals! Great capture and good luck with the 365 project.

Please stop over sometime and pick up my Capture award. You deserve it! You can find it on my right sidebar. Happy Friday!

Okay, speaking as a "snowed-in folk" from the Canadian prairies, I have to say, this just makes me insanely jealous. Nothing will be blooming here for AT LEAST another four months!!!

A rose! You lucky girl. And I'm gonna try the picture a day thing too. But I've already missed a few. Hope I can be forgiven for that. ;)

As I sit here in my big fuzzy slippers, the weather outside is
-20 degrees celsius and there is more than a foot of snow on the ground. Love the pic.....sooooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous.

P.s I am hoping to start a photography blog too. I want to do picture projects if I can get enough people interested.......

Awww I miss Southern California. I'll be going home for a visit in April though. I remember after we moved here to Alabama it was not only culture shock but weather shock too. lol

Beautiful picture, beautiful rose, my favorite flower!

You've got me California dreaming now. lol

Such a pretty rose. Everything I plant dies within a week :( Haven't a green thumb I guess. The picture a day sounds like a fun experience, I'll be sure to check it out.
