Writing Assignment!

It's that time of the week again ladies. Time to check out the writing assignment over at Mama's Losin' It.

The Prompts:

1.) Recall a time when you did something to get noticed. Write about it.

2.) Begin with “I wish someone told me…”

3.) If you could rearrange three things about your life what would they be?

4.) What do you love to create?

I think I'm going to go a little crazy and write about all four!!!

#1) This one is pretty easy!  Due to the fact that I am six feet tall, I don't have to do a lot to get noticed.  This is especially true while shopping.  I can't tell you how many times vertically challenged folks ask me if I can reach something on the top shelf.  Store owners should pay me for how often I end up helping their customers!

#2)  I wish someone would have told me about the crazy long freaky white hair that was growing off the side of my face.  I'm sure that wild hair had been enjoying its free flowing flapping in the wind fiesta for an embarrassing amount of time.  I would have beaten my friends to a bloody pulp for not telling me, but they all have to wear reading glasses to see anything up close so I had to give them a pass on this one!!

#3)  Ok, I lied.....I'm skipping this one!

#4) What do I love to create........this one is super easy!  I love that I am creating wonderful childhood memories for my girls.  I'm sure I'm also creating a few crappy ones but what kind of mother would I be if I didn't give the girls a little something to complain about in future therapy sessions?

I also love that I am creating scrapbooks to save those memories.  The girls love going through their scrapbooks and love sharing them with friends.  Of course I'm not sure how thrilled they are going to be when I tell them they are going to need to take them with them when they move out!!  Lucky for them I've mellowed a bit on what I scrap.

If you want to see some of my pages head to my gallery on Splitcoaststampers (I also have a few cards listed as well).

I'm 5'3 and LOVE the tall people. It's because of people like you that I'm able to get the jeans all the way at the top lol.

Memories, that seems to be on everyone's brain (or blog) tonight! It's definitely got me thinking. I'm sure you're creating wonderful ones by the way.

Great job on the prompts minus #3 LOL. I hate those "hairs" I always ask My Love... How could you have NOT seen it?

i so wish i was a scrapper. i just don't have the time or patience for it. if i had a room i could spread out in and close the door to i might be able to get a page or two done.

blogging is as close as i get to scrapping. i am going to have my blog bound in December though. i am REALLY excited about it!

This week was tough for me. I love #2. Like I wish someone would have told me that I had a huge piece of spinach stuck in my teeth during my first date with this guy I though was so amazing. Turns out he wasn't but still. The whole night! No one said anything. Come on!
And I give credit to you scrapbookers, I have tried and have to say its a real talent. That I don't have. : )

Ok you're officially my new BFF (just don't tell my old one! hehe) I'm 5'11 and it's so true about the shelves in stores...not only that but do people seriously not realize that we are IN FACT aware that we're tall? Why do they keep saying things like, 'you're sure tall!, how tall ARE you? and my favorite, I've never seen a girl as tall as YOU!'
Um? Thanks? LOL :)

Ugh. I hate those hairs! HATE THEM HATE THEM HATE THEM!

I can also relate to the height thing! I am not 6 foot but 5'9" and with my shoes...definitely 6 foot! :)

Great post. I love that you answered three of the four prompts. I'm planning on participating today, but I haven't written anything yet. I'm at work, but I'll come up with something at least by lunch time. What, do they expect me to work or something?

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog! What a gas!

I'm a sahm too. Tall-ish, and usually not so deep in my writing, but circumstances made it so.

I'm SoCal girl too! If you had only had boys or if I had only had girls, we'd be living parallel lives!

WOW!

1. I'm so jealous! I've always wanted to be "tall". I'm 5'5" (average) but am always in "awe" of the tall ladies. (lucky duck)

2. THIS CRACKED me the HECK up! I think we all should have a mirror that magically points out any/all white/black hairs on our face. Esp those that we may not notice. Your quote "I'm sure that wild hair had been enjoying its free flowing flapping in the wind fiesta for an embarrassing amount of time." sent me over the edge. ha!

3. You're a good mom, and I bet those created memories (preserved in scrapbooks naturally) will forever be cherished! :)

happy week, and great blog!

I'm a little over five feet tall so I'm sure I'd need you in the store. And that's sweet about the childhood memories--I'm sure they're loving that you're creating them too! And I agree with you on 2--only mine is a little black one on the end of my chin-Thanks a lot friends! ha

I'm 5'6" and my sister is at least 6 inches taller than me. I understand where you're coming from with that.

I was a SAHM for 6 months after my oldest was born and I REALLY got into the scrapbook thing, but once I went back to work, it was one of those things that fell by the wayside. I'm going to have to look into this online scrapbook thing... I think I could get into it again if it's easy.

You go with your 6 foot tall self! I'm right there with ya! I feel like a circus freak sometimes...with everyone coming up to me to ask me how tall I am and sometimes gasping and saying 'whoah SHE'S TALL!' Duhhh, I know, thank you. LOL

Oh and I LOVE #4 - I'm sure I'll cause therapy to be manditory when my baby is older. lol

GREAT post!

First, I love the background and colors of your blog (OK, did I miss this one a while back when I was choosing mine?) Secondly, it is soooo cool that you'd have that many scrapbooks for your girls. I have all of one for my little guy, but at least I tried. :)
thanks for the visit!

You know what I love? That you are 6 feet tall. :)

6 feet! My 5'4" (if I am rounding up) self could use some of those inches!!

I did it!
Thanks for the encouragement. That was fun. :-)
And, I get those hairs too. I swear, they pop out in a matter of minutes. One time I didn't pluck it right away just so I could show k. She didn't see it so I said, right here- blow, and sure enough, it started waving like a flag! I KID YOU NOT!! LOL!!! We still laugh about it!

LOL!! Love that you did "most" of them! :) Great job!
#1: While I am by no means tall, I am taller than my husband :) So I can identify with having to reach into the high cupboards and high shelves at the supermarket :)
#2 LOLOLOL!!!!!
#4 I wish I would actually sit down and do some scrapbooking!!
